  • Vintage Pitcher, Floral FTD, Italian Ceramic Art, Hand Painted Floral, Blue & Green,  Vintage Collectibles, Mediterranean Home Decor, Serveware, Tableware, Spring & Summer Decor, (Discontinued)
  • Made in: Japan
  • Vintage: 1970's - 1980's
  • Details:  A wonderful piece of Italian pottery!  This FTD pitcher is hand painted with one large blue flower and green/brown leaves.  It has a high shine glaze, (apologies for the photo glare).  It has a unique shape too, chubby in the center with a very wide spout.  We don't believe this is dishwasher safe, Hand Washing is required to maintain condition.  Beautiful to use as tableware, we could see this on a breakfast table for serving milk or juice, or would also make a great vase for flowers or displayed as decor.  A lovely addition in any home.
  • Material: Ceramic
  • Dimensions:  Approx. 5.0 inches Tall, 6.75 inches Wide (from spout to handle).
  • Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Very Good Condition.  There is a little bit of crazing, and one tiny chip on the handle.  Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show any scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.

FTDA, known as 'Florists Telegraph Delivery Association' was founded in 1910 when a group of 13 American retail florists agreed to exchange orders for out-of-town deliveries. They began telegraphing orders to each other from different states because flowers didn't always last the long train trips required for delivery in far away places. The gold Mercury Man logo was first used by FTD in 1914, he is known as the god “Hermes” , messenger to Zeus.  He is also referred to as the Roman god, “Mercury” who traveled extensively, delivering important mail from one sender to another. In 1946 International Telegraph Florists was established between FTD, the FTD British Unit and Europe's floral clearinghouse Fleurop, they became "Interflora".  By 1965, they expanded to include international transactions, and the company was renamed “Florists’ Transworld Delivery”, to reflect its growing worldwide presence and its partnership with Interflora.   Today they have grown to be the largest flower delivery network, associated with over 58,000 affiliated flower shops in over 140 countries.  Interflora is now a subsidiary of FTD Companies, acquired in 2006.
