• MADE IN GERMANY - The Dresden Ditch Digger is a heavy duty drainage and trench spade. This blade form is extra narrow, and designed for digging narrow and deep trenches and holes. The ergonomically curved handle is designed for efficiency and comfort when digging and lifting material. The forward boot bar offers a sturdy and steady foot-step for assisted digging. The primary function is a digging tool as opposed to a material mover and transport tool and will outperform a shovel at digging.
• THE LACQUERED HANDLE FINISH will protect the wood against the elements and moisture, and from drying out over time. The powder coated finish on the head will protect against rust, and gives this product line a uniform appearance. Stand with both feet firm and plant the weight of your body. Over leveraging your handle is the leading cause of damage. If your spade is lodged in the ground rock it back and forth in line with the blade. Never twist side to side, as this may break the handle.
• BEAD BLASTED HEAD PREMIUM GRADE GERMAN C50 CARBON STEEL - Heat treated and oil hardened - Attached rounded treads - Welded double spring socket - Sharpened profile blade edge. The steel blank is heated to approx 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. An indentation is pressed into the blank from both sides, while the steel is soft and hot. The steel is rolled in multiple stages, which is strengthening the steel and increasing density. The head is bead blasted to help protect from corrosion during storage.

If rusting does occur, use steel wool or an abrasive to remove the rust, and then wipe down with our Axe-Guard Head Oil. Axe-Guard is a metal protecting and rust preventative oil, and the residue is safe for contact on leather, wood, or skin.
